Violet and Pear.

eden-paragallo

The paleness of the violet
Reminds me of the daisy petals
That appealed my cold eyes.
It was fresh and smooth
Like the smell of your skin
At the first gleam of a winter morning.
I was walking in a garden
When you knocked on
The little door of my head.
My dear, I'm smiling,
I'm smiling,
You looked like that young Alice fallen in a dreamland.
You called me, you called me,
And I heard your voice,
And I smiled again.
Then it was frozen and rough
Like your designer stubble
After a long walk under an October rain.
It tasted like the salted sea of the North,
Like the wind blowing through the leaves
In the middle of a dark wood.
The pear was sweet and sweetened,
Like your lips
When you kiss me on the cheek.
It cracks between my teeth,
It slides into my throat
Like a snake goes down along a tree.
I would like to keep that memory
Hidden in a corner of my brain
Because when see it again you are here with me.
