Black Coffee

eden-paragallo

( J'ai dû boire un café pour écrire ce poème alors que déteste le café ... "un grand pouvoir implique de grandes responsabilités." )

You sting,
Like a scorpion in a middle of a fight.
You are warm,
Like a fire in a chimney.
Your bitterness is blending with
The smoke of the cigarette into my throat.
You are invading my whole mouth
Like an alien in its spaceship over the Earth.
I don't know why but
You refuse to get out of me.
Are you a ghost?
Am I possessed?
Each swallow looks like a vertigo;
It is disgusting, it is scary.
You are burning me,
I am consumed by myself.
You are killing me
But not softly like sang the Fugees.
And now you are cold as ice
You seem to be the last pieces of an old memory.
