Trivial Things
Emmanuel Turlay
I don't know where I'm going,
But wherever the wind's blowing,
I'll keep my head up and smile at trivial things.
I don't know where I'm heading,
But the sun will keep shining,
Just as long as I see light in trivial things.
And if I change my mind, miss the sarcasm inline,
Please awake me from my self absorbing lie.
And if I forget how to read the jokes between the lines,
Startle me, shake me up, don't let me steer away from trivial things.
I don't know what you're saying,
But as long as you keep talking,
I'll nod and smile as if it's understood.
I don't know how to say it,
But I don't give a "blip" it,
Just as long as I see light in trivial things.
And if you see me becoming serious and entitled,
Please remind me how we stem from trivial things.
And if I forget how to stroke your hear in the morning light,
Startle me, shake me up, don't let me steer away from trivial things.
