                    Poem by the sea

Whenever I look into your eyes,

I see a haven I long to visit,

I feel home and want to settle in,

I see a place I want to be,

            with you.

You are my port in the storm,

The refuge I so struggle to leave,

The anchor I so fiercely need.

You wrap your arms around me 

     and the rest of the world

            just disappear.

                There is just you and I.

Whenever I look into your eyes,

I see a world of kindness and

       unconditional love,

I see a beautiful soul

glowing in the dark and showing me the way,

A beacon giving me a sense of direction.

Whenever I look into your eyes,

I can see a comforting quietude

That calms my tumultuous heart,

A reassuring peaceful place

That tames my fearful and insecure mind.

Whenever I look into your eyes,

I know this is where I want to be,

I know this is where I am meant to be,

I know this is what we are meant to be,

           Just you and I.
